After three hours of joining the Skeeter Barnes staff Tuesday, United Way campaign co-chairs Ken Anderson and Andrea McClintic, eight local volunteers and staff from the restaurant walked away with $1,132.82 in tips for the 2010 Live United Campaign.

The 2010 Live United Campaign is at $435,463 toward its $534,000 goal, according to Penny Parker, United Way communications manager, and Executive Director Lisa Reese-Parish. Still needed to reach the goal is $98,536.

Volunteers at Skeeter Barnes were Greg Shea, Mark Sutko, Brian Baer, Matt Meister, Josh Jelden and Lydia Pierson.

On Tuesday, 2011 campaign co-chairs Troy Brockmeier and Bob Lammers and their team of  volunteers will join the staff at The Cellar Bar & Grill to try to surpass $1,132.82. Jan. 26, 2009, campaign co-chairs Tim Shada and Bruce Blankenship will join the staff at Little Mexico, and 2008 campaign co-chairs Brad Kernick and Gary Straatmann will join the staff at Old Chicago Feb. 2.

The United Way campaign supports 22 partner agencies as they provide rent and utility assistance, advocate services for people with special needs, shelter for victims of domestic violence, hot meals for senior citizens, mentors for youth among other things. For more information visit www.uwka.org.
