New United Way Co-Chairs’ effort at Cellar raises $930; '09 Co Chairs up next January 26th at Little Mexico,’08 co-chairs get chance at Old Chicago in Feb.

KEARNEY — 2011 United Way campaign co-chairs Bob Lammers and Troy Brockmeier and The Cellar Bar & Grill staff raised $930.44 in tips Tuesday to donate toward the 2010 Live United Campaign as part of the United Way’s Dining Out events.

On Tuesday, 2009 campaign co-chairs Tim Shada and Bruce Blankenship will join the staff at Little Mexico and their team of servers to try to surpass the reigning team of 2010 campaign co-chairs Ken Anderson and Andrea McClintic. They raised $1,132.82 Jan. 12 at Skeeter Barnes.

Brad Kernick and Gary Straatmann, 2008 campaign co-chairs, will join the staff at Old Chicago Feb. 2.

The United Way campaign supports 22 partner agencies as they provide rent and utility assistance, advocate services for people with special needs, shelter for victims of domestic violence, hot meals for senior citizens, and mentors for youths, among other things.
